Is there a global famine and global drought coming?
In the United States last month, there were headlines that Las Vegas, Nevada had about 30 days of water available for all the people that live and tour to the area.
There are increasing headlines that there are fertilizer shortages in South America. These shortages impact the farming capabilities in that area. There are also headlines that in the United States, farmers are being financially incentivized to not produce food items.
Late August 2022, there was a headline that prices of beef will increase as a result of the decline in cattle birth rates.
There is increasing food insecurity in the United States and likely in other parts of the world. Before the Covid pandemic lockdowns, there were headlines of those in Venezuela eating out of garbage cans because of lack of food in grocery stores. The food that was available I believe was too expensive for the average person to afford.
In the United States, major companies like Target and Walmart, are seeing decreased profit margins in their quarterly financial statements as a result of people putting more money toward food purchases with lower profit margins than toward things in their stores that have higher profit margins.
Due to the inflation seen in all areas of general life, in addition to food items, people have been reducing the number of meals they eat each day. Shopping trips result in purchasing what is there because there is no guarantee it will be there on the next trip, or even at the same price.
There are reports coming out later this month on various pieces of information that will let us know if we are in a global famine and drought.
Despite the challenges of the inflation being experienced, are you making strides in getting food and water preparations in order?
Much like hurricane preparations, being food secure and knowing where one can get water and even have the ability to purify water to make it safe for consumption – brings a great amount of peace of mind.
For my own setup and for those in my survival group – part of my investments are in mylar bags, which help keep food fresh longer and help deter from pests that can get into food stores. As I am able, further investment in gold and silver continues. As time allows, there is additional study and practice in survival skills that can be used for barter if needed should things continue to deteriorate.
The preparations that I put into place are not done in a mindset of fear. It is done in a mindset of giving myself and those in my group the best possibility of survival based on current information available. We create our plans based on the worst possible scenario that can be thought of. This way, should that become a reality – we have things in place for that situation. If things aren’t that bad, however, we are in a better situation than likely others are.
Continue to get your preparations together as best as you can with the resources you have available.
