We don’t think about it often, but the pollination process provided by bees is very important to our survival.
I guess it’s easy to not think about such things when our meals generally come from a to-go box or bag and we really don’t make much (if anything) from scratch anymore. If we do, it’s likely Thanksgiving and Christmas as the only two days out of the year that this happens.
Maybe it’s just me, but I know that I don’t eat nearly as many fruits and vegetables that I should. Partially because they only seem better to buy in bulk and even if I go through a phase of being REALLY into a certain fruit or veggie, they tend to go bad before I can consume all of it….even when I have plenty of Reddi-Whip to go with my strawberries!
I have seen various articles arguing that there are massive numbers of bees dying off, while there are others that argue that there aren’t massive numbers of bees dying off. Personally, I have no idea which argument is right, but I do believe that the bees are important to our agriculture, which will be absolutely vital to our survival in a disaster or SHTF situation.
There are certain times of year when honey bees and bumblebees are frequently collecting pollen around my house. I love to watch them (wasps and hornets not so much).
When I come across a honey or bumble bee that appears exhausted, I try to get some sugar water to give to them. Best as I am aware, that will revive them.

I’m not sure exactly why but this site is loading extremely slow for me.

I worked on cleaning up some things to get the mobile version to speed up some. I didn’t seem to have any slow loading speeds when I tried accessing the site from my phone.
